Exploring Services in the NDIS
School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) is funding that
can be used to develop a strategy to help build skills and
confidence in areas where help is needed.
SLES may be funded by the NDIS for up to two years.
Each person’s SLES support will be different, however the
following can often help build employment readiness:
· money handling skills
· time management skills
· communication skills
· discovery activities
· extended work experience
· learning how to take instruction at work
· travel skillsSay something interesting about your business here.
Employment Related Assessment and Counselling
This support is designed to provide assessment or counseling to
assist participants to successfully engage in employment.
The services can include
· exploring what work would mean for them (discovery)
· building essential foundation skills for work
· managing complex barriers to obtain and sustain
employment
· specialised job customisation
· developing a career plan.
